Description
A mass setting written by Flemish composer Ludovicus Episcopius (ca. 1520 – 1595) based on the French chanson Si mon service a merite by Thomas Crecquillon (d. 1557). Similar to the music training that Phillipe de Monte and Cipriano de Rore had, Episcopius studied at the choir school of St. Rombouts Cathedral. He was chaplain to the choir under the eminent composer Orlande de Lassus.
